I can still feel the warmth of last week’s California sun even though it is a 15 degree day. There’s something magical about seeing a palm tree against a pink sky, picking lemons in the dead of winter, photographing orange poppies, and seeing my children laugh outdoors while just wearing short sleeves. Too bad I never appreciated it during my childhood. But I sure appreciate now—especially since I slipped on ice while going to my mailbox today. Help me.

I'm gonna soak up the sun
Before it goes out on me” –Sheryl Crow

It's not fair.
great pics!
Ah, I need to go there really badly about now. Instead, I have my winter sun lamps to mimic what we don't naturally have here. It's not the same thing as warm, sunny, So Cal!

Patty
I don't want to bore anyone with details, but the last two weeks have been gloriously warm! We even slept one night with the kitchen windows wide open. The heater has not come on in a week! Ka-ching! I have been working in short-sleeve Tee's! Today (Sunday) is just that!!
Come back! Come back to Kalifornia.
Oh, homemade yummy lemonade...jealous!! I was just glad that it was somewhat warm in Chicago! We arrived to rain and looked out at a green lawn on Christmas day.....that ended the next day when it dropped over 12 inches of snow---but it was warmer than Utah. :-)
I'm so jealous! Your skills amaze me (photography, sewing, cooking, etc. etc.). But I am specifically jealous about you being in CA.
