Spring Tunics

I've been on a sewing spree lately making tunics. I've been dying to have one for myself but seeing as I am a lazy sewer when it comes to sewing for me, I hunted high and low for a tunic pattern I could make in less than two hours. Qualifiations? No facings, no buttons or zippers. I wanted to just pull it over my head. This is the tunic I came up with for myself. (I modifed an out of print McCall's pattern.)

And here are the easy-peasy tunics for Ilene. Her pattern is from McCall's 5458 (the red shirt). I think these turned out adorable! (Although the first picture is from a horrid pattern I will never use again.) It feels good to once again (occasionally when weather permits) get out of sweaters and into lightweight cotton shirts.

Did you sew these while we were on the road to California? Did you use the D40? That's fast work!!

Okay, forget it your mother just set me straight.

The pictures in the mosaic look great! Wish I could blow them up like in the blog with Ilene modeling. Good model she is!

So, do you make maternity tunics? I need a cute shirt for my blog party!

Very stylish. Jackson and Thomas would look great in one too!

Soooo cute! I'm always looking for cute shirts as well. I just don't have it in me to ware what I make. The last thing I made and ended up getting use out of it was a cow dress I made my senior year of high school (cow buttons, cow fabric (pretty cute, or so I thought!) As you can tell...I'll continue to shop the clearance walmart racks until I take up sewing my own clothes!

Way cute!! I made one in a similar pattern out of some brown gingham that was cute, but i think I have to revamp the pattern a bit. What ever happened to the "Anna Tunic"? I've been waiting to see how that one turns out. I've been eyeing that pattern for a long time.
