Kneading dough.….Steaming pumpkins…. Baking sweet potatoes…. Sautéing green beans…. Making compound butters…. Harvesting sage leaves…Rolling pie crusts…. Frying sausage…. Whipping meringue…. Deglazing with turkey stock…. Drying bread cubes…. Ricing potatoes…. Roasting turkey…. These are just some of the things I did this week to get ready for Thanksgiving day. It was honestly therapeutic to cook for two days. I’ve been in such a quicky-quick-get-dinner-on-the-table-before-we-all-gotta-run-separate-ways mode that to slow cook did wonders for my psyche. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
yum! And adorable picture of Hallie! She got her hair cut huh?
ReplyDeleteI spot you used your cutco serving spoon :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, what a great Thanksgiving photo.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture.
ReplyDeleteI totally failed this Thanksgiving. I figured I would go away from tradition and would make what Christopher Kimball said was a phenomenal pork roast. It was sub par and I don't think I did anything to screw it up. I also made Ina Garten's pumpkin banana mousse tart and it was good, but not as comforting as a regular ol' pumpkin pie. That's wahat I get for straying from the tried and true.
But the sausage stuffing and sweet potatoes were excellent.
Love this picture! I want to eat at your house next year!
ReplyDeleteYeah! Me too! We loved seeing Hallie chowing down! Great photo, daughter dear!
